Add Street View
Google makes new street view photos in the Netherlands every year. Unfortunately, this only concerns updates, mainly around busy locations. As places in your municipality can undergo a major change, by having new Street View photos taken you can show these changes. It is also possible to add Street View photos in Google Maps in places where the Street View car from Google can’t go. For example, a city center where cars are not allowed. The photos are made GDPR friendly and added to Google Maps like Google prescribes. In addition, we can also keep the photos up to date on a repetitive basis. Think of shopping centers, where storefronts change over time.
Obtaining Street View is something that Google does for data enrichment. With this they retrieve information such as Street names, new roads, company names, etc. In addition, they make all these 360 photos available for free via Google Maps and the Street View app. Talk about open source! As a company, if you want to use these photos on your own website, you will have to deal with the Google Maps Platform and pay an amount per 1000 Street View requests.
As a company or municipality, if you would like to add your location to Google Street View, it is possible to add this yourself. This helps visitors show where to go. As long as you can link a location to these pictures, this is possible. For example, we provided the entire innercity center of Roermond with Street view as Google could not go there due to it being a pedestrian area. We also delivered Street Views in parking garages, like in 4 big Q-park parkings, cycle paths, walkways, office buildings and the like.
