November 2014: Chris Hoogwys became Managing Partner of the recently established Localyse, a company that focuses on Google Maps. Five successful years later, Localyse is Google Cloud Premier Partner and market leader for Google Maps in the Benelux. Since the beginning of 2019, Bart Suy is also on board as Managing Partner and COO, in order to help achieve the further growth ambitions.
The company develops its own Google Maps-based products and also supports companies in the development of their own location-based (web) applications.
Chris Hoogwys is proud of his team:
‘We doubled our turnover and the number of employees on an annual basis. In the Netherlands we support 50% of the fastest growing companies thanks to the efforts of Jeffrey Benning – Country Manager Netherlands – and his team. Our complete team is highly talented and passionate about Google and the added value of location-based data for businesses. In just five years, our team became number one in the Benelux for Google Maps. That is very unique. And Google Cloud Premier Partnership gives our expertise additional confirmation’.
Customers in different countries and sectors
‘We support more than 350 customers in order to determine the optimal location strategy for their specific activities’ Chris Hoogwys continues. ‘In other words, to create significant added value by the smart and creative deployment of location or location-based data. We have been doing that successfully for five years now from our offices in Belgium and the Netherlands, and increasingly we also offer services to international customers’.
Localyse considers its mission to be successful if people use location data without realising it. For example, the ANWB Breakdown app connects customers to the emergency centre with just the press of a button. The app transmits the customer’s exact position to the emergency centre, and customers can monitor the app to see precisely when assistance will arrive.
An ambitious future
Bart Suy, Managing Partner at Localyse Group, looks ahead:
‘Today, besides the Google Maps activities, a growing portion of our revenue comes from Google and the Google Cloud G Suite. With Google Cloud, we support companies in their transition to the cloud. And with G Suite, we offer companies tools to encourage such cooperation and thus increase the efficiency and productivity of their teams. More and more we want to be a one-stop shop for companies that use Google technology. Encouraged by the excellent references that we can already present, we will certainly continue to invest in people with the right knowledge and expertise to provide customers with even better service’.
At Localyse, the customer and the human factor are at the centre. Whoever chooses Localyse, opts for personal service and a team that provides input. The company regularly organizes inspiration workshops for customers, where all the accumulated expertise and the extensive knowledge of everything that is related to location information is shared. They want to get customers to think about how a good location strategy can help them expand their business.
‘Our real ambition lies internally,’ Bart Suy concludes. ‘At Localyse, we especially want to be good at what we do and therefore attract and retain the right talent. New colleagues come here into a fun and challenging work environment with personal growth opportunities. That is not a feeble promise, it’s true!’
