My location on the map

Google Maps for Android redesigned the blue dot. Not a revolution. But a small detail.

The direction arrow is replaced by a “blue beam” reminding a bit like the lights of a car shining in front of you.

Nice to know: the beam tells you how accurate your phone’s direction is at any given time.

If the beam is wide it means that your phone’s compass is temporarily uncalibrated. To easily improve the accuracy you can calibrate the compass by drawing a “8” with your GSM.
