Why Google Maps should be your most used app during the holiday season!

The holiday season has started, normally we are surrounded with family and friends, this year it will be a more ‘quiet’ season. With some simple and free tips you are able to enjoy the holidays safe and fully updated with Google Maps.

COVID-19 layer in Google Maps

Google Maps added the COVID-19 layer. An easy way to find the latest updates about the coronavirus. This layer doesn’t only visualize the numbers of infections but also regional based rules. Since the rules will increasingly be determined per region / province, the Google Maps app is the place to find everything!

Be prepared

Google My Business gives all places such as shops, restaurants and hotels the option to add their safety corona regulations. Is the Gamma closed in the area, or is it still possible to pick up products? Do not stand in front of closed doors but start your trip prepared. You can easily find this information in Google Maps, see screenshot on the righthand side. Do you have your business and want to update the corona regulations in your Google My Business? Check out one of our latest blogpost.

Google Maps as a bodyguard during your solo run

Are you going out doing sports alone now due to the new regulations? And are you looking for a way to run or walk “safely” in the dark? Share your live location with your family and make sure they can see where you are at all times.

Don’t let the Christmas meal cool down and make sure you are on time!

Support the local entrepreneurs extra during this corona crisis and order meals at local restaurants. Google Maps can help you not to cool down your ordered meals. When you are looking for a restaurant in the area, you can easily sort by takeaways or to have the meal delivered. Directly order the meal you want to order on Google Maps, and you can immediately see when your order is ready to be picked up or when it will be delivered on the home screen of Google Maps!
