Today was a festive day at Localyse. From a list of no fewer than 350 participants, we presented prizes to the two lucky winners of our Traffic Expo 2025 giveaway. We were delighted to surprise Chris Emmerik (Arcadis) and Edwin van Putten (Municipality of Zoetermeer) with a brand-new Google Nest Hub.
It wasn’t just a moment to hand out prizes, but also an opportunity to dive deeper into the challenges of mobility management and the role Google data can play in solving them.

From Accident Data to Google Maps Travel Times
Chris Emmerik, Traffic and Incident Management Advisor at Arcadis, works intensively with data every day. He processes accident data to make it available to members via the NDW (National Road Traffic Data Portal).
During the presentation, Chris mentioned seeing immediate professional synergies with Google’s capabilities. He plans to investigate whether hyper-accurate travel times from Google Maps could be a relevant addition to his current accident data projectsβa great step toward even more precise incident information.

An Eye-Opener for Municipalities
For Edwin van Putten, Policy Advisor at the Municipality of Zoetermeer, the giveaway was more than just a chance to win a prize. Edwin, who deals with a wide range of challenges in public spaces, shared that the Localyse presentation truly opened his eyes.
“Previously, municipalities hardly thought about optimizing travel times or visibility in Google Maps. The presentation genuinely broadened my understanding of the possibilities.β β Edwin van Putten
This highlights that there is still much to be gained for municipalities in proactively managing how their infrastructure and diversions are displayed digitally.
Smarter Travel
Both winners were thrilled with their Google Nest Hub. While they focus professionally on mobility for others, they can now optimize their own journeys as well. By simply asking Google about traffic jams or accidents on their route, they will be even better prepared before hitting the road.
We wish Chris and Edwin lots of enjoyment with their prize and success with their innovative projects!

On 27 November, Localyse was represented at the National Traffic Expo 2025 in Houten. The event brought together 1,320 professionals from across the entire traffic and mobility sector to exchange knowledge and network.
We look back on many inspiring conversations with visitors to our stand. The presentations by Alexey Anatskiy, Strategist and Business Developer at Google Maps, and Jeffrey Benning, Business Developer at Localyse / GeoSquare, were very well attended.
This event provided an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate how location intelligence can make a meaningful impact on traffic management.
During these sessions, we presented both current and future perspectives on traffic management:
- βGoogle Maps Reveals the Future of Road Managementβ β Alexey Anatskiy
- βGoogle Mapsβ Route to Tomorrow: Insights into the Impact of Changes in the Public Realmβ β Jeffrey Benning
